Festival “Living Traditions” Tbilisi

On April 17, the Vaso Abashidze New Theater hosted the festival “Living Traditions,” organized by En Studio—an event that once again highlighted the richness of Georgia’s cultural landscape and the importance of international artistic exchange.

The evening stood out for both its scale and diversity. The stage brought together Georgian folklore and musical ensembles alongside international participants from Yerevan, Greece, Strasbourg, Italy, and United Kingdom. In total, around 30 ensembles took part, creating a vibrant and dynamic program that celebrated cultural diversity through music and dance.

A particularly meaningful aspect of the festival was the involvement of the younger generation. Among the performers were students from the Sukhishvili Academy, as well as groups prepared under the guidance of dancers from Erisioni. They performed alongside many other talented and respected ensembles, delivering an unforgettable experience to the audience.

The central theme of the festival was unity—a cultural journey that encourages connection, mutual understanding, and the strengthening of collaboration. Performers from different countries shared a common language through music and dance, demonstrating that culture transcends borders.

It is important to note that “Living Traditions” is not a one-time event. En Studio has been successfully organizing concerts under this festival for years across various regions of Georgia, including Batumi, Kutaisi, Bakuriani, and now Sighnaghi. This geographical diversity has helped establish the festival as a wide-reaching cultural platform.

At the same time, the organization actively promotes Georgian culture on the international stage. Georgian national dance, music, and traditions are successfully presented abroad, attracting great interest from international audiences. In return, Georgia warmly hosts foreign ensembles with strong organization and genuine hospitality.

The “Living Traditions” festival represents yet another important step toward strengthening cultural ties and preserving heritage. It is not only a celebration of performing arts, but also a space where new friendships are formed, collaborations grow, and the foundation for future cultural dialogue is built.
