International Folklore Festival – Romania, Galati

The city hosts a variety of events, among which the International Folklore Festival “Doina Covurluiului” is considered the most important in every respect: audience attendance, diversity, number of participants, cultural significance, and quality of performances.

We warmly invite you to join this cultural project and take part in the 19th edition of the International Folklore Festival “Doina Covurluiului” as our guests, friends, and artists.

Festival Regulations

1. Arrival / Departure

Arrival: Thursday, August 19, 2026, from 18:00
Departure: Tuesday, August 24, 2026, from 10:00

2. Schedule

Each group is required to prepare 5, 15, and 30-minute programs.
Groups may perform once or twice on stage.

Each group will have one free day without performances.

The program may also include:

  • Press conferences
  • Masterclasses
  • City/region tours
  • Social evening
  • Other activities

3. Performances

Each group must prepare three programs:

  • 5-minute preview for the Opening Gala
  • 30-minute festival program
  • 15-minute “Best Of” for the Closing Gala

The group must not exceed 35 persons, including technical staff and drivers.

The festival is intended for adult performers only — participants must be at least 16 years old.

4. Required Information

Each group must send:

  • Videos of previous performances (good quality)
  • 4–5 high-quality photos
  • Short presentation text (approx. 1200 characters) for the festival brochure
  • Full participants list including:
    • Full name
    • Passport details
    • Gender
    • Age (minimum 16)
    • Role (singer, dancer, driver, etc.)

5. Financial Conditions

  • Participation fee: 100 EUR per person
  • Transportation to Galați is the responsibility of the group
  • Airport transfer (from Bucharest) provided by organizers
  • Local transportation / fuel covered by organizers
  • Accommodation in 3-star hotels
  • Meals: 3 times per day

6. Additional Conditions

  • Travel health insurance is mandatory
  • Organizers are not responsible for personal injury or lost/damaged belongings
  • All medical expenses must be covered by the participant or their insurance
  • Visa procedures are the responsibility of each participant
  • Groups are expected to participate in all official festival activities

Souvenir sales are permitted only in the stage area and only during festival days, subject to prior agreement.
